Why Bal-Mukund

Where your child discovers who they are
and loves every minute of it.

Children in yoga and meditation
Happy campers learning together

Picture your child starting each morning with yoga, diving into ancient stories that feel surprisingly relevant today, singing bhajans with children just like them from around the world — then spending the best hour of the week getting their hands into art.

Guided by the teachings of Swami Mukundananda, Bal-Mukund is a 10-day live online camp for children ages 5–12, built around the seven KRIPALU values that shape genuinely good character. After camp, families tell us the same thing: their child comes back calmer, more curious, more grateful — and keeps asking when the next one is.

Families Who've Been Here

Why families come back every summer.

Hundreds of children. Every summer since 2019. Here's what some of them had to say.

"

"My daughter came home from Bal-Mukund camp completely transformed. She started chanting shlokas every morning and is so much more compassionate and focused. This camp is truly a gift for our children!"

Before You Register

Everything parents ask us.

If your question isn't here, write to us — we reply within 24 hours.

What happens if my child misses a day?

We encourage attending every session — each day builds on the last and the live, interactive experience is at the heart of what makes camp special. That said, your child is always welcome to rejoin the next day. Each session stands on its own and no child will feel lost coming back.

Can my child join more than one camp?

Yes! Each camp has its own theme, stories, and shlokas — so every session is a fresh journey. Many families register the same child for multiple camps, or enrol siblings across different sessions. Each one is complete on its own.

What does my child need to join?

A device (laptop, tablet, or phone) with Zoom installed, a camera, and a microphone.

What time is camp in my time zone?

All sessions run 11 AM – 1 PM EST. That's 8 AM PST, 10 AM CST, and 9:30 PM IST. The live format means children across North America join together in real time.

Does my child need to be on camera?

We warmly encourage it — being seen helps children feel part of the group and builds the friendships that make camp memorable. That said, we understand shyness, and no child is ever pressured. Instructors create a safe, welcoming space from Day 1.

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a registration fee. We keep it as affordable as possible so every family can join.

What age groups does this camp serve?

Camp is open to children aged 5–12, split into two age-based batches: Group A (ages 5–8) and Group B (ages 9–12). Content, stories, and activities are tailored to each group's stage of development. Both batches run at the same time with their own instructors.

My child has never attended before. Is that okay?

Absolutely. No prior knowledge of Hindu culture or Bal-Mukund is needed. Camp is designed to be joyful and welcoming for first-timers and returning campers alike. Every child is warmly welcomed exactly as they are.

Who are the camp instructors?

All instructors are trained, vetted, and deeply passionate about working with children. They are trained in yoga, Vedic studies, and child education under JKYog's programme — and many have been teaching with Bal-Mukund for several years. Your child's wellbeing is always the first priority.
